منظمة الصحة تحصي حوالى 500 إصابة مؤكدة بإيبولا في وسط إفريقيا

أفادت منظمة الصحة العالمية السبت عن تسجيل حوالى 500 إصابة مؤكدة بفيروس إيبولا إلى الآن في وسط إفريقيا وفق حصيلتها الأخيرة، فيما تتزايد المخاوف من مدى تفشي هذا المرض.

وأحصت منظمة الصحة في التحديث اليومي لأرقامها 452 إصابة مؤكدة من بينها 82 حالة وفاة في جمهورية الكونغو الديموقراطية حيث ظهر الوباء قبل ثلاثة أسابيع، و19 إصابة مؤكدة من بينها حالتا وفاة في أوغندا المجاورة .

وبذلك ترتفع الحصيلة الإجمالية للبلدين إلى 471 إصابة و84 حالة وفاة، بزيادة قدرها 100 إصابة و20 حالة وفاة عن اليوم السابق. asg-reflektory.pl

حذرت المراكز الأميركية لمكافحة الأمراض والوقاية منها (سي دي سي) الجمعة من أن التفشي الحالي للفيروس الذي أعلنته منظمة الصحة العالمية “حالة طوارئ صحية عامة تثير قلقا دوليا”، “يمكن أن يصل إلى نطاق مماثل” للنطاق القياسي المسجل بين عامَي 2014 و2016 حين أودى الوباء بأكثر من 11 ألف شخص في غرب إفريقيا، إذا لم تُتّخذ تدابير صارمة.

وفي هذا الصدد، قال مسؤول الوقاية والتحليل الوبائي في الوكالة الأميركية جيسون آشر إنه “في غياب تدابير قوية في مجال الصحة العامة، تشير النماذج إلى أن وباء بهذا الحجم ممكن”.

وتسبب فيروس إيبولا الذي ينتقل عبر الاتصال الوثيق وسوائل الجسم، في وفاة أكثر من 15 ألف شخص في إفريقيا على مدار الأعوام الخمسين الماضية.

وأُعلن تفشي المرض في 15 أيار/مايو في إقليم إيتوري بشمال شرق الكونغو الديموقراطية التي يقارب عدد سكانها 100 مليون نسمة، وهي تعتبر من أفقر بلدان العالم كما تشهد نزاعات مسلحة.

ويُعتقد أن الفيروس الذي ينتقل عبر الاتصال المباشر وسوائل الجسم ويمكن أن يسبّب حمى نزفية قاتلة، كان ينتشر بصمت لأسابيع قبل إعلان تفشيه.

ويُعزى ذلك جزئيا إلى أن الإصابة بسلالة “بونديبوجيو” من إيبولا، المسؤولة عن التفشي الحالي، تبدأ بأعراض مشابهة للإنفلونزا أو الملاريا أو التيفوئيد، ما قد يؤخّر اكتشافها.

ولا يتوافر حاليا لقاح أو علاج معتمد لهذه السلالة، ما يجعل إجراءات الوقاية والسيطرة على العدوى الوسيلة الأساسية لاحتواء انتشار المرض.

وأطلقت منظمة الصحة العالمية والمراكز الإفريقية لمكافحة الأمراض والوقاية منها الجمعة خطة مشتركة بقيمة 518 مليون دولار لمكافحة إيبولا للأشهر الستة المقبلة، مع التركيز بصورة خاصة على المراقبة والاختبارات المخبرية والوقاية من الإصابات.

وقال المدير العام لمنظمة الصحة العالمية تيدروس أدهانوم غيبرييسوس في مؤتمر صحافي إن “الوباء يتطور بسرعة ونحن نجري خلفه على الدوام”.

وتابع “علينا وقف الوباء حيث هو موجود، ودعم الدول التي تتعامل معه اليوم، والسهر على أن تكون الدول المجاورة لها على استعداد للرصد والتحرك سريعا في حال ظهور إصابات”.

وشدد على أنه “وباء خطير، ونعرف كيف نحتويه، لكن علينا التصرف بسرعة ومعا”.

Tijuana, Mexico: Iran's World Cup squad landed in Mexico on Sunday, June 7, 2026, under the shadow of a bitter diplomatic row, after the United States -- which is in open military conflict with Tehran -- refused to issue visas for some team support staff.

The dispute erupted just days before Thursday's kickoff of the 2026 World Cup, which is being jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.

After departing from their training camp in Turkey a day earlier, the Iran team landed early Sunday in the Mexican border city of Tijuana, AFP witnessed.

The team will be based in the city throughout the tournament, despite playing their entire group stage in the United States.

When they do play in the US, it will be the first World Cup to see a host nation receive the team of a country it is at war with.

Iran's team spent nearly three weeks at a training camp in Antalya, using their time in Turkey to apply for visas to travel to Mexico, Canada and the United States.

On the eve of their departure for Mexico, the players received their US visas, Washington's envoy to Turkey Tom Barrack said on X late Friday.

But Iran's embassy to Turkey said support staff had been denied visas -- 15 administrative and management staff are concerned, an Iranian diplomat and state TV said.

"You have now escalated the deliberate and discriminatory treatment against Iran's national football team to its highest level," the embassy wrote Saturday on X, calling for world football's governing body FIFA "to hold the US accountable for violations of its rules."

Adding to the tensions, Iran's ambassador to Mexico said Saturday the squad had been notified that, under their visa conditions, the team must enter and leave US soil on the same day as their matches.

"We can enter in the morning and we must leave the same day," Iran's envoy Abolfazl Pasandideh told reporters.

That appeared to contradict what the team's spokesman Amir Mahdi Alavi told state TV earlier.

"The visas issued for the national team are multiple-entry visas, and the national team will arrive at the match venue one day before the first game and, for the following games, two days prior to each match," Alavi said.

FIFA rules for World Cups stipulate that a team's coach must give a news conference on the eve of the match at the venue where the game will be played.

Monte Carlo, Principality of Monaco: Red Bull's Dutch driver Max Verstappen was forced to retire on the very first lap of the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday after an issue right from the front row of the grid.

The four-time world champion, who had hoped to make a strong start to seize the lead -- which is crucial in Monaco where overtaking is virtually impossible -- was stuck in place when the flag went up, a victim of a technical issue on his car.

"The engine was bizarre, even on the warm up lap. And then I could see on the grid the engine going crazy. The race was destroyed," said Verstappen.

He reacted wisely by moving to the left, allowing Monaco's Charles Leclerc of Ferrari to swoop safely around him.

Italian driver Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes, the championship leader who started from pole position, held onto the lead at the first corner and is in an ideal position to secure a fifth consecutive Grand Prix victory.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has selected Hamza Abdelkarim to join the Catalonian side’s first team during the preseason preparations.

Hansi Flick has chosen Egyptian forward Hamza Abdelkarim to take part in the Barcelona first team preseason preparations ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

The 18-year-old will join a group of academy and reserve-team players called up by Flick as several senior players return late because of World Cup commitments.

Barcelona will begin preseason on July 13 with medical and physical tests at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The squad will later travel to St George’s Park in England for part of its summer training camp.

Abdelkarim joined Barça Atlètic from Al Ahly in February on loan until June 30, 2026, with a purchase option included in the agreement.

Barcelona have since moved toward keeping the striker after his performances at youth level.

Flick had previously opened the door to a first team chance for the Egyptian, saying he could become an option during preseason.
