Zamalek have confirmed injury concerns for key trio Juan Bezerra, Mahmoud Bentayg and Mohamed El Sayed following their important 1-0 victory over Smouha SC in the Nile Egyptian League title race.
Bezerra, who made a major impact after coming on at halftime by providing the decisive assist for Oday Dabbagh’s winning goal, was later forced off due to injury.
According to Zamalek’s medical staff:
- Juan Bezerra suffered a pelvic injury and will undergo further medical examinations in the coming hours.
- Mohamed El Sayed sustained an ankle sprain.
- Mahmoud Bentayg suffered a cut wound.
The injuries come at a critical time as Zamalek approach the decisive final stage of the title challenge in the EGyptian League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
Zamalek’s valuable win over Smouha lifted them to 53 points at the top of the league table, giving them:
- 2-point lead over Pyramids FC
- 3-point lead over Al Ahly SC
Heading into the final round on May 20, Zamalek now need only a draw against Ceramica Cleopatra FC to officially secure the Nile Egyptian League title.
