Rajat Patidar vs Kagiso Rabada

In Qualifier 1, Rabada conceded runs at an economy rate of 13.50 but still picked up two crucial wickets — Venkatesh Iyer and Krunal Pandya. Patidar, meanwhile, struck at an impressive strike rate of 281.82 and top-scored with 93 runs in RCB’s previous match against GT.
In the final, Rabada will undoubtedly rely on his pace, variations and hard lengths to force Patidar onto the back foot. Given that Patidar has been the cornerstone of RCB’s middle order, his innings could play a decisive role in determining how his team performs.

If Rabada fails to dismiss him early, Patidar could take the game away from GT. However, if Rabada manages to remove Patidar cheaply, it could severely disrupt RCB’s momentum and swing the contest in GT’s favour.

Bristol [UK], May 31 (ANI): A sensational all-round show from Freya Kemp helped England level the three-match T20I series, beating India by 26 runs in the second T20I at Bristol on Saturday.

The series is 1-1 with one game left. Freya’s late flourish with the bat powered England to 168/5 and India’s middle-order collapse left them 26 short of the target.

England opted to bat first after winning the toss but Nandani Sharma (1/36) and Shree Charani (3/25) reduced England to 84/3, with Danni Wyatt Hodge (29 in 25 balls, with three fours) and Amy Jones (28 in 22 balls, with three fours) getting decent scores.

England got some late flourish with a 13-ball 39* (with three boundaries and two sixes) from Freya as they reached 168/5 in 20 overs.

During the chase of 169, India’s top four of Smriti Mandhana (32 in 25 balls, with five fours), Shafali Varma (22 in 14 balls, with five fours), Yastika Bhatia (33 in 36 balls, with five fours) and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (28 in 22 balls, with a four and two sixes) all got starts and India was well placed at 111/4 in 15.3 overs.

However, Kemp (2/15), Charlie Dean (2/20) and Lauren Bell (2/33) did not let India’s middle order carry the momentum, sinking them to 142/9 in 20 overs, causing them to lose five wickets for just 30 runs as Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh all managed single digit scores.

Freya’s quick-fire knock and two wickets earned her the ‘Player of the Match’ award.

The Indian U18 Women’s Hockey Team registered a convincing 3-1 victory over Korea in their second Pool A match of the U18 Asia Cup 2026 in Kakamigahara, Japan, on Sunday. Riding on goals from Nousheen Naz, Shruti Kumari and Kiran Ekka, India maintained their winning momentum in the tournament following their opening-day triumph over Malaysia.

India made a bright start and earned a penalty stroke in the opening quarter. Nousheen (4′) stepped up and calmly converted the opportunity to hand India an early 1-0 lead.

The Indian side continued to dominate possession and doubled their advantage in the second quarter. In the 21st minute, Shruti found the back of the net with a well-taken field goal, giving India a comfortable 2-0 cushion heading into the half-time break.

Korea attempted a comeback after the break and reduced the deficit in the third quarter when Gyeongmin Ryu scored in the 41st minute to make it 2-1. However, India restored their two-goal advantage soon after. Kiran Ekka, who was also named Player of the Match, successfully converted a penalty corner in the 43rd minute, extending India’s lead to 3-1 and putting the contest firmly under their control.

India remained disciplined in the final quarter, denying Korea any further scoring opportunities to seal an important victory. The Indian team earned four penalty corners and one penalty stroke during the match, while Korea won two penalty corners.

Having won their opening two matches against Malaysia and Korea, India now sit atop the Pool A standings with six points and will look to maintain their unbeaten run when they face Singapore in their final Pool A fixture on June 2, 2026.
