Moore Granted Hearing to Challenge Arrest After Michigan Firing

Former Michigan coach Sherrone Moore has been granted an evidentiary hearing on March 2 to challenge the validity of his arrest after being fired in December.

A judge has approved Moore’s motion for an evidentiary hearing, giving his lawyer a chance to contest the probable‑cause basis for his arrest. Moore’s attorney argued that a detective failed to disclose that the alleged victim worked closely with him in the Michigan football program, a fact that could alter the interpretation of his communications.

Moore was fired in December for an alleged inappropriate relationship with a staff member and was arrested hours later on charges of third‑degree home invasion, stalking and breaking and entering. He maintains his innocence and seeks to have the case dismissed.
