Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche became the first NHL player this season to reach 50 goals, scoring a liner against Vancouver's Kevin Lankinen. It marks his second 50‑goal season and joins the franchise’s elite club.

MacKinnon’s 50th goal of the season came early in the first period of a 4-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks, when a liner from up top beat goaltender Kevin Lankinen. He celebrated by sliding on his right knee while pumping his right glove.

The 30‑year‑old now has his second 50‑goal campaign, joining Joe Sakic and Michel Goulet as the only Colorado/Quebec players with multiple 50‑goal seasons. He also ties Nikita Kucherov for second in league points with 121, four behind leader Connor McDavid.
