Hope (11-1) took the fight on short notice against Kamaka (17-7). In the opening round, Hope rushed out aggressively, landing punches and driving Kamaka into the clinch. He targeted the body with knees, dropping the Hawaiian fighter.
Kamaka recovered briefly but was quickly overwhelmed again, leading to a clinch finish. The Texan fighter finished the bout while referee Keith Peterson watched, capitalizing on his striking advantage.
