President Donald Trump predicted Thursday that LIV Golf players will eventually return to the PGA Tour, his comments coming hours after Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund announced it will end funding of the breakaway league at the end of the 2026 season. Trump said the sports' best players belong on the same stage, expressing his desire to see top golfers competing together as they did at the Masters. 'I want to see Rory playing Bryson DeChambeau. I want to see big Jon Rahm playing Scottie Scheffler,' Trump said. djcc.club
With LIV's future now in serious doubt, Trump predicted that the players who left for LIV Golf will be back on the PGA Tour. 'They'll all be back on tour, and it'll be great,' he said. The PIF confirmed in a statement that the investment required is no longer consistent with the fund's investment strategy, noting Saudi Arabia has invested more than $5 billion into the league since its 2022 launch.
