Done deal. FC Barcelona are set to sign teenage wonderkid Ajay Tavares from Norwich City, with Fabrizio Romano giving his trademark ‘Here we go’ seal to the operation.
One of the most talented young prospects in England, Tavares is a 16-year-old winger who has already become a part of the Canaries’ Under-18 side.
Barcelona had been working on a deal for the youngster for some time now, and a verbal agreement with the player had already been reached. However, bureaucratic issues had held up the deal from going through.
But those procedures have now been taken care of and FIFA has approved the operation. As such, Tavares has been given the green light to complete his transfer to Barcelona.
The idea is for the 16-year-old attacker to arrive in Barcelona on Sunday and complete his medical on Monday.
The plan is for Tavares to join training with Barça Atletic in the middle of next week and begin adapting as soon as possible.
