Jared McCain has looked like a natural fit with the Oklahoma City Thunder so far. His latest performance against the Brooklyn Nets proved that he could stand out with his new team after getting traded by the Philadelphia 76ers.

After a promising rookie season was cut short, McCain lost his place in the 76ers' primary rotation. VJ Edgecombe looks to be the long-term answer for the 76ers, and team president Daryl Morey wanted to sell high on a promising youngster.

McCain feels at home with the Thunder now

Against the Nets, McCain had his best performance in a Thunder uniform. He scored 21 points on an efficient 7-for-12 from the field. It was the best he has looked for the Thunder in his short stint, which is a promising development.

Moving forward, the Thunder should be prepared to keep playing with a deeper rotation than most teams. With McCain and Ajay Mitchell serving as the backcourt depth, they can be much better.

It is optimal for McCain to play in a system like Mark Daigneault's Thunder. They are one of the deepest teams in the league because they are prepared to keep firing offensively.

"I'm very comfortable with everybody now. They welcomed me. I'm just super thankful to be in this organization. It's truly a blessing to come here and be able to have people who have succeeded at the highest level of basketball and still give me confidence," McCain said after his standout night against Brooklyn.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is spearheading the starter's offense, but with McCain, they have a reliable shooter who can play on and off the ball. Since he is still quite young, Daigneault has another player he can mold into a standout.
