Two-way Georgia baseball star suffers hairline fracture

Georgia baseball two-way threat Kenny Ishikawa has suffered a hairline fracture in his foot, per Graham Coffey on X.

Ishikawa is an extremely talented player that can both pitch and play the outfield. The star player was batting a scorching .500 from the plate prior to suffering the injury, as Ishikawa was expected to be an elite bat in the Dawgs’ lineup throughout the entire 2026 campaign. Ishikawa suffered the hairline fracture when he was hit by a pitch during Wednesday’s matchup against USC Upstate, as the dynamic player is expected to miss a significant amount of time moving forward.

The Bulldogs currently hold a 4-1 record throughout the first four games of play this season. Georgia was able to get the bats going during Wednesday’s contest against USC Upstate, as the Dawgs defeated the Spartans by an impressive score of 12-6. Ishikawa’s injury is undoubtedly a major loss to both the Dawgs’ lineup and pitching rotation, as the two-way player is expected to return just in time for SEC play later this season.

The Dawgs will host Samford at Foley Field on Saturday afternoon, as Georgia will look to begin the 2026 campaign with a 5-1 record. Georgia's lone loss of the season came to Wright State.

Georgia is ranked as the No. 13 team in the Coaches Poll. The Bulldogs begin SEC play on March 13 at home against Tennessee. Georgia will look to return Ishikawa for that game.
