New England Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins narrowly missed a $400,000 incentive last season, yet the organization has opted to award him the bonus regardless.
After sitting out the final two regular-season games due to an abdominal injury, Hollins ended the year four receptions short of the contractual benchmark.
Even so, the Patriots chose to compensate him despite the technical miss. The decision reflects the team’s appreciation for his contributions.
New England honors incentive despite shortfall
Mack Hollins concluded the regular season just four catches shy of unlocking a $400,000 performance bonus in his deal. A report from Ari Meirov detailed that the Patriots will still provide the payment.
“Patriots WR Mack Hollins, who missed the final 2 regular-season games with an injury, finished 4 catches short of a $400,000 incentive last season.”
“The Patriots have decided to give it to him anyway in the form of a $400,000 signing bonus for the 2027 season. Classy gesture.”
The compensation is expected to be issued as a $400,000 signing bonus tied to the 2027 season.
Receiver contributed throughout playoff push
Hollins joined New England on a two-year contract prior to the campaign and played in 15 games while starting 13. He totaled 46 receptions for 550 yards and two touchdowns, placing third on the roster in catches and fourth in yardage.
He returned for the AFC Championship Game with two catches for 51 yards. In the Super Bowl, Hollins added four receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown as part of the Patriots’ championship effort.
Though he fell slightly below the incentive threshold, the Patriots’ action underscores how they view his overall value to the team.
While the bonus will be structured differently than originally outlined, Hollins ultimately receives the same financial reward.
