Rival watch: Real Madrid defeats hands Barcelona title boost ahead of Levante clash

Barcelona have been handed an unexpected boost in the title race ahead of Sunday’s clash against Levante in La Liga on Sunday.

Hansi Flick’s side can return to the top of the table with a victory at Camp Nou after Real Madrid were beaten 2-1 at Osasuna on Saturday night.

Ante Budimir gave Osasuna the lead from the penalty spot in the first half but Real Madrid pulled level on 73 minutes when Vinicius Jr equalised.

However, Osasuna snatched all three points late on when Raul Garcia fired home the winner to do Barcelona a massive favor.

Barcelona lost the lead last weekend when Madrid beat Real Sociedad but the Catalans lost to Girona. Yet fast forward a few days and top spot is up for grabs once again.

Flick’s side head into the game on the back of damaging defeats to Atletico and Girona but having had a couple of days rest and the chance to reset.
