CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A record-setting 6,813 fans flocked to State Farm Center to watch Illinois gymnastics take on a two-time Olympian.
Illinois women’s gymnastics hosted UCLA in the Bruins’ first trip to Champaign since Big Ten expansion. UCLA is led by two-time Olympian Jordan Chiles, and the demand to see the fan-favorite in action prompted Illinois to move this meet to the State Farm Center for the first time since 2018.
The Bruins won the meet 197.675-195.475, with Chiles winning three events. Illinois sophomore Chloe Cho claimed the bars title with a 9.950, finishing second in the all-around.
