Sounders Beat Rapids 2-0 in MLS Opener

Paul Rothrock scored a goal and provided an assist in the Seattle Sounders' 2-0 win over the Colorado Rapids in their MLS season opener on Sunday.

Rothrock scored two minutes after replacing the injured Jordan Morris, staking the Sounders to a 1-0 lead with a header set up by Albert Rusnak. Seattle held on for the win, with Rothrock adding an insurance goal in the 62nd minute. Hassani Dotson's debut goal was waved off by a video review, and Noah Cobb's red card was reduced to a yellow. Andrew Thomas made four saves to secure the clean sheet.
