Toyota Racing Development announced the signing of 13‑year‑old Keelan Harvick to a long‑term driver deal. The third‑generation driver, son of former Cup champion Kevin Harvick, plans to follow his father's footsteps into the Cup Series.
Harvick, who had been pursuing a European racing path, shifted focus after a karting event in Italy that highlighted the differences between European and American motorsports. Toyota will partner him with RACKLEY W.A.R. and Kevin Harvick, Inc. for a schedule of late‑model races, driving the No. 62 Toyota Camry with ExxonMobil as the primary sponsor. The deal reflects Toyota's commitment to driver development, a program that has already promoted Cup drivers such as Christopher Bell, Corey Heim and John Hunter Nemechek.
