The Dutch rider from Development Team Picnic PostNL won the 145.3km stage between Huye and Rusizi, finishing ahead of Lucas Van Gils and teammate Matteo Vanhuffel.
With this win, Zomermaand takes the yellow jersey. Stage 4 is scheduled for Wednesday, covering 127.2km from Karongi to Rubavu.
