The 2026 NFL Scouting Combine is underway in Indianapolis, with Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken talking to the media on Wednesday. During his press conference, he brought up veteran guard Joel Bitonio and said he has already tried to talk Bitonio into coming back for another season with the Browns in 2026.
Bitonio is contemplating retirement, and Monken said that when he spoke to him about a return, the veteran offensive lineman wasn't ready to make a decision. Bitonio has had a fantastic career for the Browns, and even though he's not quite as good as he once was, he was still the best offensive lineman the Browns had last season.
The Browns' offensive line needs a massive makeover, but if Bitonio returned, it would provide at least a little stability and fill in one starter on the depth chart that is currently blank. If Bitonio retires, no one would blame him. This game has taken a toll on his body, and no matter what he decides, he will go down as one of the best in Browns history.
