India’s Super 8 campaign at the T20 World Cup 2026 has run into early trouble. A heavy 76-run defeat to South Africa in Ahmedabad has put them under serious pressure in Group 1. With South Africa, West Indies and Zimbabwe in the same group, India can no longer afford any mistakes if they want to reach the semifinals.

Now the equation is simple for India: they must win both their remaining matches against West Indies and Zimbabwe to stay in the tournament.
