Where Wisconsin ranks in KenPom, ESPN’s BPI after loss to Oregon

Wisconsin basketball suffered arguably its worst loss of the 2025-26 season on Wednesday night, falling to the 10-17 Oregon Ducks 85-71.

Wisconsin entered the game as a prohibitive betting favorite and sat nearly 70 ranking spots ahead of Oregon in both KenPom and ESPN's Basketball Power Index. It was then outplayed on both ends of the court; Oregon shot 52% to Wisconsin's 33%, plus scored 34 points in the paint, compared to Wisconsin's 16. The game saw the Badgers put forth a polar-opposite performance compared to their recent top-10 wins.

Wisconsin, which is now 19-9 (11-6 Big Ten) on the season, is still projected as an NCAA Tournament lock. However, the team's chance at a double-bye in the Big Ten Tournament all but vanished with Wednesday's result. It will now have to avoid similar let-downs through the final three games of the regular season. Otherwise, that tournament status could creep into doubt.

For more, here is where the team now ranks in KenPom and ESPN's BPI after the Oregon loss.

Wisconsin basketball's updated KenPom, ESPN basketball power index ranking after Oregon loss

  • KenPom: No. 34 overall (down five spots), No. 20 offense, No. 63 defense, No. 30 strength of schedule
  • ESPN's BPI: No. 35 overall (down six), projected 20.6-10.4 final record
