In honor of the NWSL’s Kit Launch Day, we rank every club from the top at No. 1, all the way to the bottom at No. 16.
Which club put out the masterpiece?
Here are our kit power rankings:
16. Denver Summit
If you thought the inaugural primary kit was bland and boring, the Summit Snow kit is somehow even worse.
“We have this white shirt, what can we do with it?”
Nike: Denver’s secondary kit
15. Seattle Reign
Including Jess Fishlock on the presentation video is not enough to convince me that this kit is a homage to all the history behind a legendary NWSL club such as Seattle Reign.
Also, the patterns on the jersey are a huge NO.
14. Boston Legacy
It’s nice to have such a colorful jersey, but the final product is a mess.
Boston’s first-ever secondary kit misses the mark.
13. NJ/NY Gotham FC
It’s a bit too much and it’s hard for the eyes to get used to it. The ambition and the artistry with the Statue of Liberty was fantastic though.
12. Kansas City Current
Nice presentation and combination of colors (even including teal there). It also goes hand in hand with the shorts and socks but the pattern just doesn’t work.
11. Utah Royals
Just like Angel City’s, black always goes great in kits as long as you know how to match the colors right and that’s exactly what Utah did.
You can’t miss it when you put black and yellow together. Also, the lion in the center of the jersey could be too much but the shade of grey they used made it work.
10. Portland Thorns
It has some nice details and the pattern is more than fine. The problem is that, for a primary kit, it doesn’t scream “Portland Thorns FC” at all.
Pink is not Portland’s color and since the club is looking to go back to what it was, the kit should also send that message.
9. Bay FC
Orange is always a good color choice because it transmits energy and more.
It’s weird to see a team that is not the Dash with orange, but since it’s a third kit, I’ll allow it.
8. Houston Dash
“This kit is a tapestry of what makes ‘Houston’ Houston.”
7. Racing Louisville
It’s electric, it’s catchy and it pays homage to its roots. They played it safe, combining Louisville’s two main colors, got it right for the most part.
6. Washington Spirit
The idea is superb but the flower patterns look like bacteria. Also, the huge sponsor on the front is not doing it any favors.
However, props for trying to make something different.
5. San Diego Wave
The Balboa Park kit shows “shades of blue, pink and orange, and included with patterns drawn from the iconic tile work, the kit stands as a symbol of unity.”
The kit is pretty simple but sometimes less is more and the colors in the details complement the jersey pretty well, as well as the shorts and socks.
4. Angel City FC
Absolutely stunning.
This is what a bada** kit looks like. A black kit is always welcomed and the combination with that shade of pink is just perfection.
3. Orlando Pride
The story behind the kit is powerful as it commemorates the 10-year remembrance of the Pulse Nightclub tragedy – symbolizing the strength, resilience, and unity of the City of Orlando.
Also, the colors are very unique, but beautifully represent the club. It’s also a good contrast to the primary kit, which has a strong and solid color.
2. North Carolina Courage
Even though I’m not a fan of the details on the sleeves, the kit is solid overall and they’re definitely an upgrade compared to the 2025 primary jersey.
Also, incorporating the state motto is always a good addition since it strengthens the sense of belonging.
1. Chicago Stars
We have a winner, ladies and gentlemen!
Vertical stripes always give a classy look to any jersey and that’s what Chicago went with on this kit. The colors symbolize the club and although the stripes are just right.
This is the simply, the best kit from NWSL launch day.
