The Washington Commanders released former Wisconsin center Tyler Biadasz on Thursday.
Biadasz recently wrapped up his sixth NFL season. He spent the first four years with the Dallas Cowboys, three as the team's starting center. The former Badger then signed with the Commanders ahead of the 2024 campaign. He started 34 games (three in the playoffs) over two seasons with the franchise, helping lead it to the NFC Championship Game in 2024.
The center previously played for Wisconsin from 2016-19. He started 41 games at center from 2017-19, blocking for all-world running back Jonathan Taylor. Notably, Biadasz is the only Rimington Trophy winner in program history.
According to Spotrac, Biadasz's release frees $2.85 million of 2026 cap space for the Commanders, leaving $8.1 million of dead cap on the books. Now on the open market, the established veteran should have little trouble finding a new landing spot. The in-state Green Bay Packers may lead the list of teams in need of a veteran center.
