Okonkwo Cleared to Join Nigeria's Super Eagles

FIFA has approved Arthur Okonkwo’s nationality switch, officially allowing the 24‑year‑old goalkeeper to represent Nigeria. The decision follows his long association with the Super Eagles’ setup and his status as Wrexham United’s first‑choice keeper.

Born in England to Nigerian parents, Okonkwo progressed through Arsenal’s youth system and represented England at U15‑U18 levels. Standing 1.98 m tall, he has played 31 matches for Wrexham this season, keeping seven clean sheets, and could soon vie for the starting spot under coach Eric Chel.
