Lincoln Stuns No. 2 O'Dea in Basketball Upset

No. 6 Lincoln High defeated heavily favored No. 2 O'Dea 71-58 in a Class 3A regional basketball game Saturday, advancing to the state quarterfinals.

Lincoln, a Tacoma team, answered criticism from Seattle Metro League teams by dominating the favored Irish from start to finish. Sophomore stars Davion Shareef-Dulaney and Justus Holt led the charge with 22 and 23 points respectively, as the Abes never trailed in the game.

O'Dea's offense struggled throughout, with only Brian Webster (16 points) and Peyton Brooks (15 points) providing consistent scoring. Lincoln now advances to the 3A state tournament quarterfinals next Thursday at the Tacoma Dome.
