Scott McLaughlin Secures Pole for IndyCar Season Opener at St. Petersburg

Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin secured the pole position for the IndyCar season opener at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, delivering a 'bloody good' performance on Saturday.

McLaughlin drove the No. 3 DEX Chevrolet to a best lap of 1:00.5426 (107.032 mph) on the 14-turn course, securing the 14th pole of his career at St. Petersburg.

He will start Sunday's season opener alongside teammate Marcus Ericsson, with rookie Dennis Hauger qualifying third ahead of Alex Palou.
