NHL commissioner Gary Bettman will visit Calgary on Monday to assess Scotia Place as a potential venue for the 2028 World Cup of Hockey. He will be joined by deputy commissioner Bill Daly for meetings with ownership and a tour of the arena's construction site.

Calgary is among the finalists to host the four-team round-robin portion of the tournament, with venue announcements expected in two weeks. The $1.2 billion Scotia Place, scheduled to open in fall 2027, would be ideal for hosting the February 2028 event.
