Brows Retain Interest in Bitonio Return

Cleveland Browns have made it clear they would like veteran guard Joel Bitonio to return for the 2026 season, despite his consideration of retirement following the team's historically inept offensive performance.

Despite being on a historically poor offense, Bitonio remained a solid pass and run blocker during the 2025 season. The Browns pushed back his void date in mid-February, giving the team flexibility to potentially spread his dead cap hit over two seasons if he decides to retire. Head coach Todd Monken recently expressed his admiration for Bitonio, stating, 'There aren't many wired like Joel. Like what he says, how he carries himself, how he prepares.' General Manager Andrew Berry has also indicated that Bitonio has earned the right to take his time deciding whether to return or retire, marking a different approach than the team took with Nick Chubb last year.
