Rutgers hires former Drake DL coach Joe Evans

Rutgers has hired Joe Evans, the former Drake defensive line coach, as its new assistant defensive line coach.

Joe Evans, who spent one season as the defensive line coach at Drake, has joined Rutgers’ coaching staff as assistant defensive line coach. Evans helped develop Drake’s pass rush, producing multiple sack leaders in his lone year.

A former Iowa walk‑on who finished his career with 135 tackles, 28 sacks and 35 tackles for loss, Evans also had a brief stint on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad. He will work under new defensive line coach Dennis Dottin‑Carter.
