Andrea Pavan Discharged After Elevator Shaft Fall

Italian golfer Andrea Pavan was discharged from a South African hospital after falling three stories in an elevator shaft. He will stay for five weeks of rehab before heading back to the U.S.

Pavan, 36, suffered fractures to several vertebrae and shoulder injuries after falling three stories in an elevator shaft during the DP World Tour’s Investec South African Open. He underwent multiple surgeries and was discharged a week after the incident.

The golfer will remain in South Africa for about five more weeks of rehabilitation before traveling home. A GoFundMe raised over $81,000 in support, and he thanked fans for prayers and messages.
